brockelmann

One of my more anticipated purchases in recent months arrived with today's mail: a copy of Brockelmann's Grundriss der vergleichenden Grammatik der semitischen Sprachen. Yes, I even got both volumes!

Brockelmann's Grundriss was the preeminent grammar for comparative Semitics in the 20th century . . . yes, it's a bit dated (for instance, it preceded Ebla), but it has yet to be superceded. Even Lipinski's Outline, though a laudable reference, does not quite compare.

The best part? I got it in very very good condition without breaking the bank . . . actually, come to think of it, much less than Lipinski's Outline . . .

Just wanted to brag . . .
